Dear Alumni: 
The Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) is conducting a site visit at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine for continued accreditation from November 7th- November 10th. 

  • Dean Mattiacci's Student Events: 1st Year Breakfast and Student Picnic

On Thursday, Octobert 27, 2022, Dean Mattiacci held a Class of 2026 Breakfast in the 3rd floor student lounge. The breakfast was held to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 and to allow for a relaxing morning with delicious treats, to encourage the students with their studies. The students had a wonderful morning chatting with Dean Mattiacci, listening to music, drinking coffee, and spending time with classmates.

On Friday, October 28, 2022, Dean and Mrs. Mattiacci hosted a picnic at their home for the students of TUSPM, to celebrate the return of in-person classes and all of the accomplishments of the students. The event was a success, with over 100 students, faculty, and staff attending the event. The students were excited to spend a day outside playing games, meeting new friends, and dressing up for Halloween as their podiatry professors! 

  • Class of 2024 and Class of 2025 Fundraisers

The Class of 2024 is excited to announce the return of the Anti-Microbial Jackets ($85)!! Please use the link below to access the order form, which also provides pricing details and a Mens/Womens size guide. 
We will be selling the TUSPM Jackets until Friday, 12/02/2022. Payments are to be collected by c/o 2024 Treasurer Annie Samuel (Venmo ID: @TUSPM2024). If you prefer a different payment method, please coordinate arrangements with our treasurer at anniesamuel@temple.edu.

  • Dr. Tracey Vlahovic's New Book 

Congratulations to Dr. Tracey Vlahovic on her new book, Atlas of Lower Extremity Skin Disease. Dr. Vlahovic's book will soon be available for pre-order on Amazon, Springer, and other online booksellers, as well as online e-book copies and hard copies.

  • Experience Podiatry Day with TLC's Dr. Ebonie Vincent 

Ebonie Vincent, DPM from TLC’s hit show “My Feet Are Killing Me” visited the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine on October 1, 2022, for the Experience Podiatry Day. This event was held for prospective students to learn about podiatry and meet with experts in the field. Dr. Vincent was joined on a panel with some of TUSPM’s alumni: Dean John Mattiacci DPM ’71, William Long, DPM, FACFAS ’09, William Harris, IV, DPM FACFAS ’07, Lesly Robinson, DPM ’07 and Residents Patrick Bik, DPM ’19 and Christine Rihn, DPM ’19.

During the event,  prospective students had a Q&A session with the panel followed by learning workshops on suturing, grafting, and casting.

Thank you to Kylon Pretty from Organogenesis and Fred Purnell from Regenerative Medical Softwave for sponsoring this wonderful event. These representatives for Organogenesis and Regenerative Medical Softwave demonstrated their products and gave a wonderful presentation about the impact their products are making in podiatry. The Experience Podiatry Day at TUSPM was a successful event to introduce young and bright students to the field of podiatry.
