Dr. Birdwell places the utmost value on treating each of his patients with compassion and dignity. He understands that no two patients are the same, and that there is no “one size fits all” approach to treating patients. Dr. Birdwell’s philosophy is to provide compassionate care and educate patients on their specific problem, the possible treatment options, and help guide them to make an informed decision based on their individual needs.
Dr. Birdwell has experience in treating all types of foot and ankle problems with both conservative and surgical approaches. While he is dedicated to treating patients conservatively first, he knows that surgical treatment is sometimes necessary to improve lower extremity function, alleviate pain, and overall quality of life. Dr. Birdwell has particular interest in surgical reconstruction of foot and ankle deformity, trauma, and diabetic limb salvage.
Dr. Birdwell believes in the importance of fostering students and residents through hands-on education and experience. He believes that it is critical to advance foot and ankle care through scientific research and clinical training experience. Dr. Birdwell is committed to patient care and to training the next generation of podiatric surgeons.
