TUSPM hosted its annual Summer Internship Program, June 7-14, 2019 in which 19 students from 10 states along with Puerto Rico, who attend(ed) 18 various colleges and universities, were represented. During their time in Philadelphia, internship participants had the opportunity to shadow in a variety of environments which included TUSPM’s own Foot and Ankle Institute, where they interacted with our clinical faculty and current students. Interns also shadowed with various alumni at Penn Presbyterian Hospital, Chestnut Hill Hospital, Hahnemann Hospital, as well as at the practices of Drs. Eisenman, Levine and Urbas.
Besides their shadowing opportunities, interns participated in workshops that ranged from anatomy, biomechanics/casting, primary medicine and hand tying which were led by current TUSPM students. TUSPM faculty presented on topics ranging from wound care, sports medicine, surgery, orthopedics and Gait Study. TUSPM interns stayed on campus during their time at TUSPM and had the opportunity explore Philadelphia as well as an excursion to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ.
TUSPM will be hosting our Winter Internship Program January 5-8, 2020 and our Summer Internship Program June 5-12, 2020.
