Causes and treatments of gout
In addition to some of the more well-known health concerns associated with a diet full of rich foods, gout, a type of arthritis, can also become a problem. Dr. Kathya Zinszer of Temple's School of Podiatric Medicine, says that while gout is most common in the big toe joints, the mid-foot and the ankle, other parts of the body can be susceptible as well.

Are Five Finger shoes good for kids?
The Vibram "Five Finger" shoe may look a little odd, but many fitness gurus swear by them for running. The company recently released a new line of their shoes for children, and parents may be wondering how the shoes could affect their children's feet. Dr. Howard Palamarchuk, director of sports medicine at Temple's School of Podiatric Medicine, says that because kids generally are not running for speed or distance, softer shoes are perfect for their level of activity. "They are not training the way an adult would train," he said. "It's always better to go with the softer shoes."
