DEFINITION OF THE COURSE
The course presents an overview of the biomechanics of the lower extremity with emphasis on the function of the foot in normal/abnormal gait. Basic biomechanical examination techniques including gait analysis is demonstrated through lectures and workshops.

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE
This course will prepare the student to examine patients for orthopedic disorders of the lower extremity by developing a thorough understanding of normal structure and function, the student will be prepared to study musculo-skeletal pathology in later course work.
