TUSPM, in collaboration with the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, has developed a unique podiatric medical education program. Through this affiliation, applicants accepted into this program will receive two years of classroom instruction at the TUSPM campus in Philadelphia, while most of years three and four are completed in Texas.
During year three, students will have the opportunity to complete their clinical education in a six-month continuous block at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. The required third-year rotations are of four weeks duration and will include: three months in allopathic medical clerkships (internal or family medicine plus vascular disease, neurology, orthopedics, or infectious diseases) and three months in primary podiatric medicine and surgery.
The fourth year includes a total of five (5) one-month rotations over the year (not a continuous block), also at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. These rotations will consist of four (4) one-month rotations in podiatric medicine/surgery, and one of the remaining allopathic medical clerkships (from list in third year).
