Location
The Gait Study Center is Located on the 2nd Floor of the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine (TUSPM). TUSPM is located on 8th Street between the intersections of Race Street to the north and Cherry Street to the south. The School is adjacent to the historical district of Old City to the east and Chinatown to the west, and is within walking distance of the downtown business and commercial districts.
Traveling by Train:
From Market East Train Station:
The SEPTA regional rail lines serve the Market East Station which is located within (underground) the Gallery Shopping Mall, between 8th and 11th Streets. Exit the station, walking east on either Filbert St. or Market St. until you come to 8th St. Go left on 8th St. and TUSPM/Foot & Ankle Institute will be on your left in about three blocks.
Amtrak Trains:
All Amtrak trains stop at 30th Street Station. From 30th Street Station you may take any SEPTA regional train (prefixed by an "R") to Market East Station. These commuter trains leave from the upper level of the station, and your Amtrak ticket will be honored. From the Market East station, follow the directions above.
From Philadelphia International Airport:
Take the SEPTA R1-Airport Line, located outside the baggage claim areas of each terminal, to the Market East Station. Follow the directions above from the Market East Station. Trains arrive and depart approximately every 30 minutes. Contact SEPTA or visit their website before planning a trip on the R-1 line.
Traveling by Bus:
The bus terminal, at 10th and Filbert Streets, is located four blocks from TUSPM. From the terminal entrance/exit (on Filbert St.) walk two blocks east on Filbert St. to 8th Street and turn left (north). TUSPM/Foot & Ankle Institute is two blocks up on the left. Traveling by Subway:
The two SEPTA subway stops closest to TUSPM include the Chinatown stop (8th and Race Sts.) on the Broad-Ridge Spur and 8th Street, on both the Market/Frankford line and the Broad-Ridge Spur. From the Chinatown stop, TUSPM/Foot & Ankle Institute will be directly across Race Street at the intersection of Race Street and 8th Street. From the 8th Street stop, walk north on 8th Street two blocks and TUSPM/Foot & Ankle Institute will be on your left after crossing over Cherry Street.
